It’s our detox week…& so far, we are holdin’ strong! The week is full of lean & green goodies that make you feel full ALL day…believe me I had the green beans & coconut over quinoa last night, & even my super hardcore meat-loving boyfriend thought they were delicious! The GIANT lean & green salad was even tempting the geese at the park!
While detox week may be a struggle for you…FOCUS on the fact that you are cleansing your body & your mind, and getting both prepped for the next 5 weeks. Eating clean needs to become a way of life, not just a 6 week commitment. Take baby steps, find foods that you enjoy, and remember…we are not dogs, so we don’t reward ourselves with food. We reward ourselves with a good book, a pedicure, a long bath-anything that makes you feel better, & satisfies you in a way food never can.
F.I.T. Tip: There is power in decision!!! You did it, you made right the decision to start this BRIK & there is tremendous power in that. Let go of any past road blocks with your health & fitness goals. Start freshâ€¦move forward with power, determination & the decision to not only start but finish strong. Write down your goals; keep track of your food & workout hard!
Nutrition Tip: Escaping the pleasure trap. Detox week is intended to break any habits we may have formed that are not good for us. It’s easy to get stuck in the pleasure trap of coffee, sweets, processed foods, alcohol & any form of chemicalsâ€¦but as we know it’s not only bad for us but they are killing us. This week we are going to fight together to bust out of the ‘pleasure trap’ & move into eating foods that help us live happy & HEALTHY lives.
